About

My own, personal journey.

theodore “Ted” Brown, Ph.D, MBA
Professor, CFO, Financial Advisor

I’ve been assisting companies, churches, and individuals across the globe with their financial needs since 1983. My areas of expertise are personal finance, estate planning, church finances, and small businesses. When having a consultation, my first goal will to see what are your goals that you wish to reach when it comes to you and your community’s finances. Together, we will build a comprehensive lesson overview to help you achieve that vision, and will work on the best way to deliver the tailored session to you and your members. My desire is to help as many people as I can, who may have a similar background and experience from one that I grew up in - one that didn’t fully comprehend the meaning of financial freedom.

I’m a graduate of Oakwood University, Amberton University and Andrews University. At Oakwood University, I’ve been able to serve in many different roles, such as the department chair and tenured professor for the School of Business. I’ve taught numerous traditional and online courses in leadership, finance and management, and I’ve particularly specialized my research of the roles, responsibilities and relationships of financial officers in the context of leadership and management in non-profit religious organizations. I’ve also served over 30 years of service in the areas of auditing, accounting, trust services, chief financial officer (CFO)/treasurer, and pastoral ministry for the Southwest Region Conference, Lake Region Conference and South Central Conference, being able to achieve unprecedented success in accounting and strategic financial leadership in managing of over a hundred million dollars in two conferences. I’ve also had the incredible privilege to share this ministry across the world, having done conferences and seminars in Russia, South Africa, Jamaica, and more.

I’m grateful and honored to be able to go on this journey with you.
